+ BILLY RAY CYRUS Gets Involved
Long-time advocate of veterans affairs and policies,
Billy Ray Cyrus made a pledge to a veteran on a recent internet
chat that he would gather the official positions from both presidential
candidates on the subject. Over the last two weeks,
Cyrus kept his promise. Cyrus performed at a Gore fund-raiser
in Nashville two weeks ago and spent 15 minutes with the
Vice President and his running mate Joseph Lieberman to
discuss this issue. Cyrus also spent time with Governor George W.
Bush at his campaign rally in Chattanooga, Tennessee to get a
grasp of the politician's stand on the issue. The singer posted
candidates responses on his website.
'Veteran issues have always been extremely important to me,' said Cyrus.
'I know how busy both candidates are at this stage in the campaign
and I'm truly grateful for the time they gave me for this worthy cause.'
